International Women’s Day Luncheon

On Friday 10 March 2023, the St Catherine’s Foundation hosted the inaugural International Women’s Day Luncheon.

An initiative of the St Catherine’s Foundation Endowment Committee, the event raised just under $35,000 in support of our Indigenous Education program.

This fundraising effort is a true testament to the generosity of our school community. Thank you to Catherine Ajaka, Chair Endowment Committee and Foundation Board Director for her vision and execution of this inaugural event.

Hosted in the Multi-purpose Hall of the Performing Arts & Aquatic Centre, 190 men and women enjoyed the beautiful views over the Pacific Ocean as they gathered in support of the Scholarship Fund.

We were delighted to welcome Allegra Spender MP as our keynote speaker. She spoke of finding your courage, motherhood and the progression of women in Australia, a fitting message as we celebrated the strong women in our community.

Thank you to our MC, Georgina Byron AM, Foundation Board Director, and Year 12 student Aysha Stewart for her Acknowledgement of Country.

We also thank Joyce Timbery, a local elder from the La Perouse community, and past parent, who shared her story and reinforced the importance of our Indigenous Education program.

We look forward to hosting this event annually as part of the St Catherine’s School calendar in the future.

Thank you to PMC Legal, who has come on board as a platinum sponsor.  Thank you also to our gold sponsors, My Muscle ChefFutureYou, and Bachini Jewellers, and our bronze sponsor, Money Queens.
