During the school holidays, three of our tennis players and 11 water polo students headed to the USA to showcase their talent internationally.
Our tennis girls were based at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in Texas, after winning a scholarship for coaching and accommodation at last years’ national schools tennis championships. The girls were given skills training, conditioning and match practice against local high school students in Texas. They also had the opportunity to tour Texas State University.
The water polo players went to Southern California, where they played against club and high school teams in the region. These included Newport Harbour High School, Corona del Mar High School, as well as SOCAL, CHAWP and SET water polo clubs. The girls also had a tour of the University of California Irvine and the University of Southern California, where they met college staff and saw the amazing facilities and programs on offer.
