St Catherine’s has a wide array of contemporary spaces and facilities that together provide an immersive experience for students from Kindergarten through to their final years.
From classrooms and study spaces, play areas and lawns, to research centres, science labs, workshops, sports courts and the Performing Arts & Aquatic Centre, students have everything they could need to explore their passions and develop their unique abilities.
We nurture the individual spirit of each girl, guiding her academic journey and supporting her personal development through strong values, as she grows into a young woman of character and intellect ready to make her unique contribution to the world.
Our Performing Arts & Aquatic Centre opened in January 2022 and provides an integrated suite of spaces that enable students to train, perform, compete and exercise across a variety of interests and disciplines, using the very latest in equipment and technology.
This highly adaptable centre allows students to explore new interests and develop their unique gifts and talents to the very highest levels. Its considered design and layout also offers a wide degree of flexibility in hosting a range of different activities and events.
This 12-lane, 25 metre, heated pool supports girls’ aquatic endeavours including water polo, diving and swimming.
It also houses the Barry Rodgers Learn to Swim Pool, in which we run our popular Learn to Swim program.
Barry Rodgers, Australian Ironman and our dedicated swimming coach for almost 40 years, taught generations of St Catherine’s students to swim. This pool has been named in his honour.
Our 502-seat theatre was named in honour of our 12th headmistress, Dr Julie Townsend.
It enhances our existing performing arts curriculum and provides the perfect space to deliver modern-day theatre and performances.
It offers a 10-metre deep stage with 5-metre wings and a full orchestra pit.
The Multi-purpose Hall links to the Dr Julie Townsend Theatre by a shared foyer, offering a flexible space to support events when the auditorium is in use.
When operating independently, the Multi-purpose Hall is designed to facilitate a range of activities such as school examinations, BTC events and social functions.
Our popular Learn to Swim program provides a range of options to St Catherine’s students and the wider community during term time and school holidays.
The program provides multiple entry points, catering for every level from infants to club and competition; focusing on building confidence, learning water safety and improving stroke technique. The overall goal is to deliver a fun and enjoyable experience while developing a valuable life skill.
Our Open Mornings allow you to experience the magic of life at St Catherine’s for yourself and discover why we’re the right school for your family.
