The St Catherine's Foundation

The St Catherine’s Foundation was founded in 1983, with the primary purpose of providing long-term financial support for the school’s capital development and scholarship programs. It is administered by a board of directors and its day-to-day activities are supported by our Head of Community Relations.

The Foundation carries out its work through three committees, each comprised of board members and volunteers from the parent community.

Our Foundation brochure provides more details into our purpose, approach and activities.

The Campaign Committee

Generating funds.

The Campaign Committee manages fundraising programs to generate funds for specific capital works developments.

The committee is currently focused on the need for extra classrooms: our education offerings continue to grow, and with the school’s long-term commitment to a broad, differentiated curriculum and small class sizes, more classrooms are needed.

Should you wish to donate by direct debit, please email or call our Head of Community Relations on 02 8305 6238.

The Endowment Committee

Encouraging donations

The Endowment Committee encourages philanthropic support for scholarships, prizes and other special programs as well as bequests to the school through the Fielding Fellowship.

In 2018, the committee launched a new means-tested scholarship, the Faith Patterson Scholarship, named for our longest-serving headmistress.

Please email us for information and enquiries regarding our programs.

Should you wish to donate by direct debit, please email or call our Head of Community Relations on 02 8305 6238.

The School Sports Fund

Increasing opportunities

St Catherine’s has registered with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).

A donation to St Catherine’s sport will support increased participation and opportunities for our students to complement their academic achievements and help them reach their full potential.

Should you wish to discuss the program, please email or call our Head of Community on 02 8305 6238.

To provide the girls with the best possible training, equipment and facilities St Catherine’s aquatics, rowing and tennis and general sports including dance have their own funds.

The Connections Committee

Building engagement

The Connections Committee aims to build and strengthen positive relationships between the school and its communities, creating professional networks for parents and alumni, and encouraging strong engagement and a culture of philanthropy within the school.

The committee also drives initiatives such as the professional networking (PN) program, the father-daughter breakfast, profiling outstanding alumni and professional mentoring.

Should you wish to discuss these or other activities, please email or call our Head of Community Relations on 02 8305 6238.

Foundation membership

Securing the future

Members of the school community who donate more than $1,500 to the school are invited to become members of the St Catherine’s Foundation.

There are a range of funds to which donations can be made:

Get in touch

We welcome enquiries regarding membership to the St Catherine’s Foundation.

For more information about membership, foundation programs or donations, please email or call our Head of Community Relations on 02 8305 6238.

Scholarship donations

Our Scholarship Fund provides a platform for students to benefit from a St Catherine’s education.

We welcome donations or bequests to ensure we can continue to support students well into the future.

The Faith Patterson Scholarship

Miss Faith Patterson AM was a former headmistress of St Catherine’s.

The foundation launched an appeal to raise funds for the Faith Patterson Scholarship in her memory, and gifts to this fund will help build a means-tested endowment to enable future students to attend the school.

Indigenous Education Program

Indigenous culture plays an important role in the fabric of the school, and in partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF), the Go Foundation and the Moriarty Foundation, the St Catherine’s Indigenous Education Program offers academic excellence and a wide array of extra-curricular experiences that build character and help prepare our students to make their mark on the world.

The Fielding Fellowship

Remembering the school in your will is a way of expressing an enduring connection with St Catherine’s.

The Fielding Fellowship has been established to honour and recognise members of our community for their generosity and foresight in making a bequest to the school.

Enhancing our School.

St Catherine’s has always had a building expansion program in place in one form or another, aimed at continually improving the facilities available to students and staff, and so enhance the teaching and learning experience.

We continue to undertake small and large builds, refurbishments and renovations, including the Research Centre in senior school, the library in junior school, the drama studio and the boarding house. The most recent capital works project, the Performing Arts & Aquatic Centre, was completed in February 2022.
